Bywaters Timms was started in 2004 by Janice Bywaters.  Before that Janice had been a partner at another Brisbane CBD firm and then special counsel at a medium sized Brisbane city firm.

Janice had wanted for some time to start her own legal firm that specialised in providing advice in the areas of franchise and general commercial law in Brisbane.  Janice had a loyal, substantial client base and decided it was time to take control of her own destiny.  

The firm has prospered and grown.  Early in 2008 the firm expanded its services to include all forms of litigation.

Elizabeth Gore-Jones became part of our team as a lawyer in mid 2008.  Elizabeth brought with her a loyal client base and has expanded the firm’s general commercial and franchise law departments.

The firm is based in the Brisbane CBD area but is within easy reach of its national clients.  Elizabeth regularly works on the Gold Coast with our Gold Coast based clients.

Bywaters Timms has formulated a Guiding Code which is the set of rules that govern the internal behaviour of  the team.
